The Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSiRA) held a “Take a boy child to work” initiative yesterday, 31 October 2018. The Authority hosted 14 learners from Thembisa High School, and they were welcomed by PSiRA’s Director / Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr Manabela Chauke. This is the first time the Authority held this initiative and it aims to establish it as a campaign against the neglect of young men in society. The school boys were treated with breakfast and lunch, they had a conversation with Director Chauke where he told them about his upbringing. The Director taught the boys about the importance of knowing the dangers of gender-based violence, the spread of HIV and the substance abuse. The boys also had a chance to meet with the Council.
