At your nearest PSiRA branch except the head office. Please bring along your ID book for first time collection.

You can simply go on to the Psira website on , go to publications, scroll down to downloads, choose option for the registration form and select the one you require.

Certified copies of your training certificates;

Certified copies of your ID;

2 colour ID photos;

Proof of residence;

Set of finger prints;

Registration fee of R210.00.        

Kindly note that you should also bring the original for both training certificates and your green bar-coded Identity book when coming to register.

Visit our website on,on the far right of the home screen, go to online verification, enter your id number, click I’m human then click submit.

Temporarily rejected, this may be due to a possible criminal record (pending investigations), fingerprints submitted were of poor quality (Re-take), a pending case or a case awaiting trial (court documents required to be submitted within a period of 90 days).

Application may be withdrawn due to a criminal record or annual fees not being paid. Contact our customer care number on 086 133 3850 and verify.

Appeals are handled by the Minister’s office, It will also depend on the availability of the members of the Appeals Committee; the minimum time for response can be a month depending on the complexity of the matter.

Duly completed application form (Renewal of individual certificate form)

Payment of prescribed amounts (Certificate R40 First renewal / R20 Second renewal /R90 Re-issue and upgrade, ID Card R60 First issue / R90 Re-issue and upgrade)

Authenticated copy of first page of ID document

Original PSiRA certificate (affidavit if lost / misplaced).

Application letter from business (printed on business letterhead)

Annual fees paid in full or sign acknowledgement of debt;

Secondary requirements: Tax clearance certificate; Registration with COID (if the business has employees).

Outstanding means you are still holding the old SOB certificate bearing an old logo, meaning you have never renewed before and that you will have to go renew your old certificate to get a newly improved one with more security features.

Expired means that you have previously renewed your certified and it has now expired; you are therefore required to go renew your certificate again.

Individual certificate expires after 24 months.

Business certificates expire after every 12 months.

Unfortunately not, you are required to personally visit any of our offices except the head office with all the required documents as we need to verify your finger print on the system before we can print the certificate for you. For those who are employed, your employer can renew your certificate on your behalf with your consent.

No, it is not possible, please note that our systems requires the owner’s finger print to print the certificate out, therefore you are required to personally come through to our offices for assistance.

It will depend on the Area and Grade. For more information, you can visit your nearest labour office or contact Psira call centre number on 086 1333 850 to request a copy of the sectoral determination 6 for security officers for a detailed breakdown of wages.

You can go to your nearest Psira branch with your original green bar-coded SA identity book and make a certified copy of your ID to rectify the error


Make a certified copy of your ID and state the error made on the copy then fax it to 086 246 7750.

You can go to your nearest PSiRA branch except the head office with your original ID book for collection.

Alternatively, Use our Psira App to book a date for collection, you will be allocated a reference number that you will need to take to the branch when you go collect.

To request for a letter of good standing, you should write a request on a company letterhead, submit your latest monthly returns and attach a proof of payment of R30.00 for the request and send it through to your account administrator or to

In order to apply for Recognition of prior learning in respect of the skills programs completed, each applicant should complete the relevant SASSETA RPL/PSiRA form. An amount of R90.00 per skills program certificate are payable. Furthermore, the application should provide us with the relevant certified copies of the ID document and the SASSETA certificate or statement of result.

On receipt of the complete SASSETA RPL applications, PSIRA will only be able to consider RPL. The RPL SASSETA recognition will be uploaded immediately in order for each applicant to be able to proceed with the individual application for registration process.

You will have to contact your training provider to submit your outstanding results. If the training provider insists that they have submitted your results, ask for a mail number as proof of submission.

You can apply using a temporary ID; however, we will need the original ID book when you come collect your certificate.
